Understanding the Interface (Marquee Skin)
Top Level/Home
Xinet refers to what you see immediately after you log in to the server as Home (using the Marquee theme). This is where you can see the folders to which you have access.
From Home you can search folders using the Xinet search engine or browse previews of the assets inside folders.

Browse mode interface
The Browse mode interface allows you to look over multiple assets and folders in your Xinet volumes, and with proper permission, to use the various features described in this chapter. In Browse mode, folders appear in alphabetical order, with files at the same level in the file structure listed beneath.
Although it depends on how your administrator has set up your account, users can choose between a number of possible ways to display assets when browsing. In the Exhibit theme, if you’re viewing a level only containing folders, all three views look similar. You can best see differences between views when individual files are being displayed. In the Marquee theme, you can select the level of detail to display from within in the browser.
Contact your Administrator to set your view preferences. For more information, see the “Giving a user Web access to a volume” in the Administration Guide. Also note that the display of the following views can be altered by the Administrator in the Xinet Administration view.
Marquee Theme - Icon view
The Marquee theme allows you to view your assets in various levels of detail. The Icons view shows folders and files together, each represented by a thumbnail. Note, the display of folders is controlled by the Portal Admin options (http:’PortalAddress’/PORTALADMIN).:
For images, PDFs, HTML, and Microsoft assets, Portal presents small thumbnails. You can hover your mouse over a document to see if a document has more than one page. If so, the first and last page numbers are displayed in a button. Clicking on the previous and next arrows, displays an image of that page.

The Icons and Actions view presents thumbnail images, the name of the asset, and icons for a number of Portal tasks, - Download Options, Show Details, Show Annotations, Add to Collection, Image Order, and Manage Files.

It also shows all the metadata fields associated with these assets, in sortable columns. Click on a column name to sort the list according to the items in that column. (By contrast, the Short view shows icons only.)
The actions you can perform on assets from a List view include the following. Note that you may not be able to perform all of these actions on any particular asset, depending on the type of asset and your permissions. (Use the tooltips to figure out which icon is which.)

To access this view, open the annotations view for one of the image files. There are chevrons (arrows) to step back and forth through the folder. The chevrons are on either side of the image; you may need to expand the width of your browser window to see them.
Using the Navigator
Once you have selected a volume, use the scroll bar to look through assets. Assets and subfolders are displayed. Use the navigator on the right pane to select another folder to explore. You can go back to previous levels using your browser's Back function, or by clicking on a folder name in the “path”. Use the Home button to go back to the top level of your volume.
