PDF Image Replacement workflows
PDF Image Replacement queues replace proxy images and convert image formats directly on PDF files without conversion to PostScript. This is particularly useful for sites that need to either OPI-replace images inside a PDF without loss of transparency, or want to convert embedded images (either low-resolution or high-resolution) inside PDF files.
Working with PDF Image Replacement queues replaces proxy images and converts image formats directly in the PDF without conversion to PostScript. This is particularly useful for sites that need to either Open Prepress Interface (OPI)- replace images inside a PDF without loss of transparency or want to convert embedded images (with low-resolution or high-resolution) inside PDF files.
As a client user, you can export PDFs from the layout application you are using (for example, InDesign or Illustrator) and drop them into a Xinet Hot Folder (which your Administrator has set up) that leads to a PDF Image Replacement queue. The resulting PDF will contain the replaced and / or converted images and will also preserve other PDI elements such as transparencies, XMP data, font, and so on.
