Plug-ins which ship with Xinet
The plug-ins that ship with Xinet Suite include:
Administer Collections: Turning on this option allows users to save and load Collections. Those functions provide a mechanism for saving the contents of a Collection with a name, and at a later time, returning to the saved Collection and performing operations on it. In the meantime, the Collection can be used for new collections of files.
Download archive of files: Turning on this option allows users to batch-download all of the images in their Collection as high-resolution images.
Download archive of FPOs: Turning on this option allows users to batch-download all of the images in their Collections as FPO images.
Batch Image Order: Turning on this option allows users to quickly convert and download a Collection full of images. The mechanism can, for example, convert a Collection of press-ready images into Web-ready images or painlessly resize a large group of images for placement within another document. Parameters include: resolution, dimensions, file format, and color space.
Conversion parameters can be saved for easy re-use. There are two types of saved configurations, global and user-defined. Global configurations are prepared by the Xinet administrator and identified by the symbol ** in the plug-in selection box. Global configurations can be loaded and modified, but they can not be deleted by anyone other than the Xinet administrator. User-defined configuration can be saved, loaded and deleted. Global Custom Image Order and Batch Keyword Apply configurations provides details about establishing global configurations.
Batch Keyword Apply [only when the database has been enabled]: Batch Apply allows a user to recursively set keywords for the contents of their Collections. This is useful when users want to add the same metadata to a group of files.
Conversion parameters can be saved for easy re-use. As with Batch Image Order, there are two types of saved configurations, global and user-defined. Global Custom Image Order and Batch Keyword Apply configurations provides details about establishing global configurations.
Batch Report [Portal only]: Turning on this option allows a user to generate Annotations Reports for multiple assets simultaneously. The generated Report includes pertinent information (configured by the user with each use) about assets currently in the Collection. It may, optionally, be converted into a Printable PDF format.
Contact Sheet [Portal only]: This plug-in allows users to place assets in a Collection and then create a PDF contact sheet that displays the Collection contents. The user designs each contact sheet by specifying its page size and orientation, the arrangement of columns and rows, the dimensions of the previews, the font size for any text fields, optionally including QR codes which provide URLs to mview of each asset, optionally showing dates, and optionally including Image Info, Video Info and/or Audio Info. The PDF, once created, will stream in the user’s browser, from which it can be saved for redistribution. The Xinet Portal Administration Guide provides additional details.
Video Reel Generator [Video Module for Xinet only]: Turning on this option allows Xinet Portal users to assemble existing video files, PDFs, InDesign documents, Office documents, captured frames from HTML and SWF files and images into new videos, and to replace the whole sound track with an MP3 file.
Like Xinet styles, you may also write your own Xinet plug-ins. Refer to “The Basket API” inside the Xinet Guide to Development APIs for details.
