Changing Apache/PHP Settings

The Portal > Edit > Server Details > Apache/PHO Settings page provides Administrators the ability to the edit memory limit values, set the maximum upload size value, and review error reporting settings. Administrators use this page to review parameters for how the Web server can be used.

The following Portal Web Server Settings are available. Click the Submit button after making any changes.

Version	Description
Portal Server Root Directory	Establish the server root directory. Note: Apache configuration file is not editable. The Web document root folder file, the directory from which your Xinet Portal server will be serving its Web pages, varies by platform and is specified within the server’s httpd.conf file. By default, Xinet Portal will use the following: OS X: /Library/WebServer/Documents Linux: /var/www/html Windows: C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache.x\htdocs You can change the location by typing in a new path in the Portal Server Root Directory field. Please consult Apache documentation, however, if you do so. Changing the Root Directory in the PORTALADMIN GUI will change it in the httpd.conf file as well.
Memory Limit	Default value is 256 Mbytes You may adjust the Memory Limit for PHP foe better overall management of your Xinet Portal server. In most cases 256 MB is more than enough and can be adjusted as necessary. Note: You must restart Apache before the new value is assigned.
Maximum Upload Size	Default value is 2048 Mbytes You may establish the maximum size for a single upload, with an upper limit being 2048 MB. The number you type into this field sets the total size of a single upload. Since Uploaders send files individually, with a setting of 2048 MB, a single 2048 MB file could be sent with other files the same size or smaller in one submission. The browser-based form sends all files listed at one time. For Web browser, the total of all files in the form must be 2048 MB or less in a single submission. Because Web browsers do not pre-calculate the size of all files, you must wait for the submission to fail when sending an oversized upload. Note: You must restart Apache before the new value is assigned.
Error Reporting	This setting determines how much information is written into the Apache error log file. You may choose to have any combination of All Errors, Warnings, and Notices.   Note: You must restart the Apache services after submitting any changes.
