Requesting a License

As an Administrator, you must request a license using the Administration software.

If this is a clean install, using the previous license, use the license you made note of in Step 1.

To request a license:

1.	In a browser window, open the URL for the Xinet Administration server.

2.	Click License > License > Send License Request.

3.	Type your information in the fields provided.

The Xinet product serial number is automatically specified.

Note: Leave the option Database Server only blank. This option is for a separate license for a Dedicated Database Server. For more information, see Setting up a Separate Dedicated DB Server - Optional.

4.	Click one of the following options:

•	Email the request

•	Save to a file (formatted for email to operations@northplains.com).

5.	Click Submit.

Activating the Xinet license

Authenticating as the administrator

Before you can license Xinet software, you must first authenticate yourself as the user nativeadmin (password is left blank). If the login credentials are changed, your Xinet Administrator will provide you with the user name and password.

To apply the System encoding and the Xinet License:

1.	Establish the proper language encoding, click Licenses > Encoding. The Encoding dialog, box will open. You will only need to do this once.

After establishing the appropriate encoding with the pop-up list, click Set the selected Encoding.

2.	If your software hasn’t already been licensed, you will see an invalid license message.

3.	After completing the steps in this section, use the License tab as described in Xinet licensing to license your software.

4.	You may, if you wish at this point, change the nativeadmin password. For more information, see Changing the nativeadmin password.
