After you have established templates, you will need to assign them to users. Before you do that, however, you might want to further customize the way users see and interact with the information to which the templates provide access. For example, if you were to create a template for “Ad Agencies,” you might then establish a subset for “Production” and one for “Direction,” where directors would have permission to change special “Project Approval” fields but “Production” would not. Xinet refers to these subsets as permission sets. You establish permission sets, as described in this chapter, using the Database, Permission Set subtab; then, go back and assign sets to users or groups through the Volumes/Users, Permissions subtab.
