Installing Xinet Pilot and Plug-ins on a Windows Client Machine

The following instructions are for user installing Pilot for the first time on their local Windows machine. Once installed, the Pilot icon is displayed in the system tray on a Windows platform. To configure Pilot so it can access the correct Xinet server, users simply right-click on the icon, select Preferences, and specify the server URL.

Windows: Installing Xinet Pilot on a Client Machine

To Install the Xinet Client on a Windows machine:

1.	On your Windows network, find the server running Xinet 19.1. (You may need to ask your administrator for help.)

2.	Connect to the server with the following user name and password:

User name: macfiles

Password: (leave the password blank)

3.	Download the file XinetPilotInstaller.exe to your computer.

4.	Find your downloads folder and double-click the executable to install it.

5.	You may see a security warning. Click Run.

6.	The setup wizard will appear. Click Next.

7.	Review the End Users License Agreement. Click I accept the terms in the License Agreement, then click Next.

8.	Click Install.

9.	When the installation is complete, click Finish.

10.	Before you run Xinet Pilot, you will need to configure it to specify the Xinet server URL. To configure Pilot so it can access the correct Xinet server, simply right-click on the icon, select Preferences, and specify the server URL. For more information, see Launch Xinet Pilot (Mac OS X).
